Однажды мне написали:
«Юля, я люблю вас читать, от вас веет внутренним благополучием».
О, знали бы вы, какая была проделана мною работа, чтобы это состояние стало моим обычным состоянием, несмотря на все передряги!
А началось все с меда и масла.
Я вышла замуж в семью, где всегда было ощущение, что с деньгами все в порядке. Мои свекры и мой муж очень спокойно относились к деньгам, знавая при этом разные времена.
Однажды мы были в гостях у бабушки и дедушки моего мужа, и бабушка рассказывала, как в послевоенное голодное время они копили деньги, чтобы купить на базаре мед и масло для своей младшей болезненной девочки.
Меня это поразило. Тогда я шла, спотыкаясь, сквозь буреломы собственных отношений с деньгами. Я не знала, как с ними обходиться, у нас их никогда не было; но вот удивительно, у этой семьи их тоже было немного, но ощущение, что с ними все в порядке, от них шло мощным потоком.
Мед и масло. Послевоенный голодный рынок. Ребенок, который болел. Крошечная зарплата учителей младших классов. Как, как они это делали, чисто технически? Прятали в конверт? Откладывали по 50 коп? Покупали сразу? Мне было 19, я была худой и голодной как кошка, я была из семьи, где только долги и нехватка.
Мне хотелось быть той, для кого покупается мед и масло; мне хотелось быть той, кто умеет покупать мед и масло при любых деньгах; мне хотелось быть той, у кого покупают мед и масло, рынком, на котором продают мед и масло, мне хотелось быть медом и маслом и уметь излучать золотистый свет приличной семьи, живущей в достатке.
Потом было много всего. Работая с этой темой в своих группах про Советский Союз, я убеждалась, что золотистый свет благополучной жизни никак не связан с цифрой доходов или с легкой жизнью.
Его излучали порой очень бедные семьи в свои самые худые времена; его излучали те, у кого на столе была только пустая картошка, или, как у моей свекрови, пирог, собранный из горсти муки и горсти ягод; его могли при этом не излучать те, у кого фактически деньги были: как и у меня, при любом достатке тут фонило тревогой и безденежьем.
По большей части наша бедная истерзанная страна его излучать не умела.
И я училась и до сих пор учусь говорить «деньги есть». Придерживая рукой рвущийся наружу свой тотальный внутренний дефицит благополучия и обеспеченности, я лила на него сверху мед и масло послевоенного рынка; иногда капала по капле, притворяясь той, кто умеет – и начинала и вправду уметь.
